Stylist agrees to the following salon expectations:

  • Be respectful and welcoming to anyone who comes into the salon.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and coworkers. When you need support or clarification, ask for it and everyone will be happy to help.

  • Harmony with coworkers and team spirit. We are working together so that we can all win.

  • Focus. Leave all negativity and personal agenda at the door so that you can work with clients effectively.

  • Practice self care with regularity to bring your best self into the workplace.

  • Log in all clients on the main salon schedule and check out client payment through the main salon schedule.

  • Manage personal schedule and communication with assigned clients. 

  • Time management: Be on time for all scheduled appointments. Complete services and tasks within the time allotted.

  • Adhere to all salon rules. Keep the salon clean including shared chores and cleanliness in your personal work area and tools.

  • Keep safety and sanitation first when working on clients.

  • Retain adequate knowledge of the service menu and procedures. Maintain competency with services you choose to offer.

  • Wear appropriate clothing according to salon rules and TDLR regulations.

  • Never use relaxers, perms, texturizer, brazilian blowout (and similar products) on clients in the salon.

  • Total completion of every service to the best of your ability is required and expected.

  • Keep license up to date according to TDLR requirements.

  • Keep an updated portfolio.

  • Maintain an attitude of continuous learning and growth. Take extra classes, assigned training and staff development to improve skills where necessary. Take directions and evaluation with grace and determination for excellence.

  • Retain knowledge for a healthy hair consultation for the client including a basic understanding of healthy lifestyle practices, nutrition, wellness and how it all affects the hair.

  • Manage personal finances effectively.

  • Establish clear boundaries between self and others for professionalism and emotional wellbeing.
